Heading offshore for a half day with WAHOO on our mind, we noticed some “fishy” waters within 15 minutes of clearing the cut, the birds were working so we pitched a few livies at the area and we had our 1st dolphin in the box, it is not even 7:30am yet, we had the school stay with us for awhile and we managed to boat a few more even though they had a severe case of lock jaw. We decided it was time to troll to see if we could get a Wahoo, we set out the trollers with rigged ballyhoo and various colored skirts. The 1st hit came on a rigged ballyhoo with a green and yellow skirt, we had our shot at our Wahoo but we lost it boat side, frustrated but determined we re set the trollers and a few minutes later we saw a frigate, as we trolled by him we got another hit and this time we boated a nice dolphin, we reset and then the outrigger which had the black and purple skirted ballyhoo gets nailed and we are on after a few minutes we had our 2nd shot at a Wahoo and this time we were able to put him in the box. The weather was beautiful in the early morning then it began to blow, perfect day for a half day of fishing.
Until Next Time
