Heading offshore for a ½ day looking to get in on some of the dolphin action, we loaded up with bait near Haulover and heading out into 1-2 ft., which was a pleasure, we continued east until around 800 ft. when we deployed the outriggers, it did not take long as we had our 1st knockdown and our 1st phin of the day then another, we then had 3 knockdowns which much to our surprise would turn out to be 3 barracudas, so we took out the 50 wides and tried high speed trolled looking for “fishier” water, not 10 minutes into a high speed trolling 1 of the 50`s start to scream….music to our hears, we thought for sure we had our Wahoo, but we some something jumping and a big splash……..after a few minutes another jump, this time we see we have a nice Bull dolphin on, after a perfect gaff shot to the head he is in the box. Tally for the day was 3 barracuda??? And 3 dolphin ranging from 5-25 lbs.
Until Next Time
